Was traveling down 255s last night when I hit a pothole the size of Manhattan, completely destroyed the tire (hopefully not the rim and control arm will find out later today) We we're between Cahokia and Belleville so I pulled off onto Rte 15 and stopped at the flying J. I lucked out and found Tactical on Google and called them up. Braxton was there in 20 minutes and took great care of my car (MB S560) had it loaded up in secured in a few minutes and had it to Dobbs in Shiloh in just a few minutes later. I get home and I have an email containing pictures of my car at the flying J and then at Dobbs (this was a nice touch) I hope I never have the need for a tow truck again but if I do I will call Tactical 1st. Just professional, clean, courteous. As far as the bill, I work as a repossession and recovery rep for a local credit union and know first hand flatbed service is not cheap, so what I paid I felt was extremely fair. Front tire cut on I-55 bridge from St.Louis into Illinois.  Had to take Hwy 3 into one of the top crime zones of the country.  The tow driver knew the area and exactly where I was sitting.  He recovered me and my car in 15 minutes.  Took great care with loading my Tesla and dropping it safely in O’Fallon, IL.  A knowledgeable and friendly tow truck driver.  Not sure $420 was fair or market rate for 8:30pm on Friday and towing 16 miles.  I realize loading and unloading labor is a more static fee.  I’d call them again in the same situation but I’m going to look into AAA.
